DM1000 - I want the printer drivers updated in the machine. Apparently when this machine was made, they never added drivers for the newer printers that came out around the same time, specifically the Z585. I have a Z585 to print reports from my Buisness Manager pc, but Buisness Manager doesn't always work right and sometimes doesn't collect all the transactions from my DM1000. So i'd call service and they'd tell me "Well, there's only 1 printer in the tri state area that can hook up to your machine. I have to go meet someone in New York and bring the pc back to your area." I have a big problem with that right there, especially since i've had this problem several times. Its a printer driver!!!! Those files usually aren't that big and i'm sure someone over at Pitney Bowes could figure out a way to make the file downloadable from the machine. It never made any sense to me that a machine comes out, and if you want to print reports from it you need to find a specific, obsolete printer. Sorry Pitney Bowes DM1000 developement team, thats just lazy and should've been fixed years ago.
DI950 - Very simple, i'll be in the middle of a job and for whatever reason i'll need to stop the machine, grab some envelopes, add ezseal, whatever. My problem is that the next time you hit "Start" the deck clears. That means whether the piece is done being folded/inserted or not, it comes out, sometimes that can be up to 5 mailpieces, some folded, some 1/4 folded, and some not even folded at all. With all the technology in this machine, thats insane! I had a 7 series, I could do a drum roll on the start and stop buttons and the machine always knew where every piece was and what had to be done to every piece. If there is an explanation for this i'd love to hear it, up to this point there hasn't been a single Pitney Bowes employee with one.

Couldn't help noticing that your message has been viewed over 1,000 times with no reply from PB yet. Perhaps you got your answer in another thread?
I've been dangerously close to talking my superiors into getting us a DI950 because I have been hearing nothing but good about it (from PB employees). Now I'm hearing what appears to be a pattern with these new, high tech machines.
There is a lot of though (operater-wise) about how stuff goes in and how stuff comes out, and little thought into what happens in between. I'm guessing that the DI950 designers thought there wouldn't be any reason to stop the machine in the middle of a run, so they didn't tell the machine what to do when that happens.
I can tell you for a fact right now that if we had one of those machines here right now most of the Big Shots around here would consider it pretty rude of me to let the machine run while they had something to say. If shutting it down is more work than letting it run there's a problem there, especially if you have to stop it to add envelops and ezseal.

I too am amazed that Pitney has not responed.
I can say that we have the same PB machine though it has a Secap sticker/logo. And yes, it can cause a lot of waste if you stop it in the middle of a run. Depending on where you are at in a job you may get 2 to 7 pieces of the same insert kicked out on a clear deck. They will be in various stages of folding and most will not be able to run back through the machine. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to mitigate the waste or damages.

Not getting any kind of feedback on my original post was why i stopped coming here. I don't know how things have been since i left but maybe ther are some new tech/admins browsing these forums that would want to say "something/anything" about this. And to the person with the secap machine, i experience the exact same thing and end up manually stuffing many envelopes after i'm done running the machine.
To be positive, i recently have been having issues with postcards skewing in my dm1000, the service techs put in a lot of work but did successfully fix the problem. Now i am receiving an error code when i try to do mail that isn't postcards lol. The reason i logged in was to put in a service request for the machine and i ended up here.

You would think so...but no.
I too have quit trying and only came here because of an email notification on this post.
