Hi Brittany, If you have downloaded your May 2009 USPS rates. Your system may simply need to be reinitialized. Please follow the steps outlined below.
- Unplug the power cord (wait 30 seconds) and plug it back in (this will recycle the unit)
- Place a letter on the scale
- Press the class button
- Select 1st Class then Letter
44 cents should now appear
If it does, you are all set. If it doesn’t , I please send me a an email with your meter's serial # and your company name (for verification purposes) to check into it a bit further. You meters' serial # can be found on the back of the unit.
Thank you for your post,
Lori

Interesting. If you recall what it was you had to press let us know along with what system you have.
Thanks for the post.

Yes, they showed up as $.44 and do every time I unlock it. The only problem I'm having is that it now erases my ad every time I shut it down. I have to re-enter the postage ad every time I unlock the meter. It's a DM100i. Is there a way to tell it to keep that in memory as it did before the update?
Thanks!

Hi Tradmt,
I'm glad you were able to download and install the new postage rates. ![]()
In order to not lose your ad every time you unlock your meter, you will need to save your ad as a preset. This can be done by following these simple directions:
- Press the Normal Preset key
- Set the Class (such as 1st Class Reg Ltr)
- Press the down arrow key and select Ad
- Select and Ad
Now, you will have the class and Ad set. Next, you will need to save this as a preset, so that every time you recall the preset, it will recall both the class and the Ad.
- Press the Custom Presets key
- Select Define Normal Preset
- Select Yes, Store Preset
You can also save this in a custom preset if you would like, by selecting Define New Preset instead of Define Normal Preset.
Thanks for your post,
Lori

We have two machines at two locations - Model DM 1000. One was ready to go on May 11th, but the other was not, despite downloading the latest software just a few days prior (Year Of Value software package).
We manually downloaded the new rates, which, fortunately, went smoothly.

Hi Rocketman,
Glad to hear things went smoothly.. If you downloaded the software after the 27th of April, you should have received both software and rates within that specific download. If you downloaded the software prior to the 27th, you would have had to perform a separate download to receive the new rates. Hope the helps....
