"out of ink" message on DM300c

I've replaced the ink cartridge, but the machine still says "out of ink" and won't function right now. This hasn't happened to me before. Unfortunately, one of my employees first tried to change the ink this time around without my help, so I don't know if it's something she's done to the machine or if this is not an unusual message. :-(

Hi jplsunshine,

 

I'm sorry to hear you are having this problem with your machine.  Let's try this:

 

Check the Ink Cartridge

  • Remove the Ink Cartridge
  • Place the ink cartridge on your scale
  • If the weight is 1.4 oz, replace the ink cartridge (it is empty).
  • If the weight is greater than 1.4, place the ink cartridge back into the machine
 

Clean the Printer Nozzles

  • Press the menu key
  • Select Maintenance
  • Select Printer Maintenance
  • Select Clean Print Nozzle
 

You can run this cleaning 3 times.  If after the 3rd time, the quality of the print is still poor, then we will need to send a service representative to your location.
