We are setting up our scanners to read account numbers and presets.The account number scans correctly but when we scan the barcode for the preset the scanner just dings but in the diagnostics it comes up as a P3 so the barcode is correct.So why wont it accept the preset scan in the run screen and change the preset.

Can you let us know what you have this barcode scanner attached to?  Is it connected to a meter (which model) or is it connected to your PC for use with a program (which program)?

The scanner is connected to the dm1000 it self under the cover.

The barcode scanner used in conjunction with the DM500 - DM1100 series mail machines can only scan accounts (with Budget Manager Accounting Program) and Tracking Number stickers (Certified, Delivery Confirmation, Signature Confirmation).  I'm sorry, but the scanner cannot input presets.
