In looking at the historical posts on the forum, it is obvious that there is a major design flaw with the mail station given the number of people who incorrectly install new print cartridges.
Is there ever going to be any PREVENTIVE action taken by PB or is the plan to just tell everyone that they need to call/pay a service person to come out and fix the problem caused by the inherent design flaw?
The directions for installation of a new cartridge are not clear. A MINOR installation error ends up causing a MAJOR problem and causing MAJOR MAJOR customer dissatisfaction.
I can't use my meter or the $100 worth of postage in it AND I am expected to pay for a service call.
It seems much easier to just buy some stamps and junk this meter.

I am with you. Just got my Mailstation2 the other day, installed the cartridge wrong and am unable to get the blue latch up to remove it. You'd think they'd make this easier. This is unacceptable for a product like this.
Makes me want to go out and just buy regular stamps too.

lmhesq,
Use this advice that was posted on another posting by a PB rep. Worked for me. Hold the ink cart down while trying to release the lever.
"If you are unable to remove the ink cartridge from your K700, the cartridge may be installed backwards. Could you first restart the meter by unplugging the meter, waiting 1 minute, and plugging it back in. A message should appear, "Do You Want To Install a New Ink." Press Enter, open the cover and attempt to remove the ink cartridge. You may need to push down on the cartridge to release the lever. Then, please insert the ink cartridge with the label facing toward you.
If you have the message "Incorrect Account Number" on your K700, please send me a private message with your account number and meter serial number. You can send me a private message by clicking on PB-Jeremy and "Send this User a Message." I will correct this and reply to your message confirming this has been corrected.
Please do not list your account number or serial number in a reply to this post, as this is a public forum."
