MODEM NOT DETECTED MESSAGE

Everytime the meter is due for an inspection it won't connect. The message "modem not detected". Every inspection, really don't want to have a tech come out every single time for an inspection.

 

 

Meter is a DM400c, connected to an analog fax line.

AggInd,

 

Could you follow these directions and let me know what happens please?

 

 If using an analog phone line

Press the menu button

Press the down arrow key once

Choose Data Center Options

Choose Phone Settings

Dial type should be tone

If you need to press a 9 to get an outside line, Dialing Prefix should have a 9

PBP Phone number should be 1-866-297-8025

Blind Dialing should be off

Press Enter

Press Home

 

If using a network line

Press the menu button

Press the down arrow key once

Choose Data Center Options

Choose Network Setting

Verify these settings are correct

 

Check to make sure the line is security connected into the back of the mail machine.  It is best to not have any filters, splitters or wireless system on this line.  If you are still unable to make a connection, you can try using a different line.

 

Make a connection

Press the Refill Postage button

Choose Get PBP Balance
