Re: Error E0000

K7M0HB,

This error occurs when the software does not have direct access to the internet due to the firewall that is blocking the connection while trying to refill for postage.  You can try this first:
  • Using your web browser, launch your Internet home page
  • Click on Tools at the top of the page and select Internet Options
  • Select Connections
  • Click on the LAN Settings Icon
If “Use a Proxy Server” is checked, it is in use.  If this is in use, you will need to download the latest version of Mailstation Assistant software on your PC.  In Mailstation Assistant, click on Updates > Update PC Software.  After the download is complete, open Internet Settings and add the proxy settings.  You can do this in 2 ways:
  • Right click on the Mailstation Assistant Icon in the system tray and click on Internet Settings
  • In Mailstation Assistant, click on File > Internet Settings
Choose to authenticate, or assign it manually.

Re: Error E0000

we received a k7mo yesterday. our plan was to use the k7mo through a pc to connect to the internet. at install, we noticed we could not connect to the internet. we thought it would help if we tried connecting through a phone line to download the updates to the scale. we did this. updates were downloaded via phone line. when i connect the k7mo back to the pc using the usb, i still can't connect. i've read other posts where you describe actions to take with proxy connection. i don't use proxy and have tried all possible connection options on that screen. I have disabled the firewall-with no success. i am running XP. i also tried the trick described in other posts where you reboot and restart the scale, tell the scale to dial PB and then connect the usb-didn't work. any other ideas?

Re: Error E0000

inc123,

Thank you for these details.  Based on the fact that you were able to make a connection at the time of install using the phone line, it should be the case that you can continue to make a connection in that same way.  Now, when you connect the meter to your PC via USB, is the phone line still attached to the meter?  If so, when you try to make a connection again, are you trying to do so on the meter itself, or through the Mailstation Assistant program?

Thank you,

Jeremy

Re: Error E0000

I agree. The phone line connection went so smoothly that I'm sure we could continue to make the connection that way but our intention was to go through the PC. I had to move the meter to a location where we don't plan to keep it in order to have access to our fax phone line. When I attach the meter to the PC via USB, the phone line is not attached to the meter, only the USB cable. In this condition, I have mostly tried to connect to the internet via Mail Station Assistant. But, as described in other posts, I did try (with the meter attached via USB only) to go through the screens on the meter to perform a phone line update only to insert the USB at the last second. This didn't work.
