I am receiving an error message indicating "waste ink tank full - needs replacement" on my DM100i. I've searched the operator guide, and searched on-line and haven't come across anything indicating that there is even such a thing as a waste tank, let alone replacing it. The message is continuous and I am unable to post mail or view other options. Please help!

If you receive the message "Waste Tank Full" on the display of your meter, you will need to call our service department at 1-800-522-0020 for assistance with this. The reason behind this, and why we do not have information in our operators guide, is because the directions for clearing this message are dependent on information stored in your meter.
Our service representative will be able to clear this error with you.

Ironically, I ran into the same problem yesterday. I remembered seeing the same or a similar message on my machine several months ago. I was thinking the message I saw said "waste ink tank full" and when I saw the earlier post regarding that message, I thought I somehow got around the problem because the message cleared and my machine started working again. Then yesterday I got that message and couldn't clear it. I called customer care and the rep told me that my machine must be replaced because there is no way to empty the waste ink tank. Evidently, the message I got several months ago was "waste ink tank nearly full", which is an alert to contact PB. I mentioned to the rep that there is nothing in the manual or online to explain what to do when one of these messages occur. The machine is replace for free within seven days, but it costs over $40 to have it overnighted.
This can be a warning to anyone else who sees the message "waste ink tank nearly full" on their machine. Although the message eventually clears, you want to contact PB immediately so that your machine can be replaced before it locks up completely.

I too got the "Waste Tank Ink Full" Message today and was told my version of the machine means the unit is "done".
I have to wait 2-3 biz days now for a replacement unit. I wish there was a warning to give us time to order one..now
we have to scramble to the post office until we get out new one. And then we have to wait to get our postage transferred
out of the old machine.

But when you call the number, you get directed to a something that sounds like a fax machine talking to another machine and that hurts my ears! Is there not a number to call direct for this error message? I have tried that number 3 times in the last 30 minutes and get the same error/odd direction.

Was the number you called 1-800-522-0020? That is the support number for equipment issues. I hope calling this number resolves your issue.

Strange...after I called customer service, they said they are sending out a technician to have the waste ink tank replaced. They aren't sending a new unit. Is this a new change?

We do now dispatch service technicians instead of replacing these machines when they need service for certain issues.
