Hello Brett!
Thanks so much for the question!
Yes, you can use an approved ancillary service endorsement, such as "Address Service Requested", "Return Service Requested" or "Change Service Requested" to meet the Move Update regulation. However, you must ALSO take any address notifications that you receive from the USPS and update your database. It is not just enough to simply put an endorsement on your mailpiece.
Also, I you are using ONLY ancillary service endorsement as your Move Update method, you'll need to be mailing to those addresses, using endorsements, at least within an every 95 day time period. In other words, if the only method that you're using relative to the Move Update regulation is endorsements, and you mail to your customers outside of every 95 days, for example, every 6 months, then you would not be in compliance with the regulation.
The goal of Move Update is to be continuously evaluating/updating your database at least within an every 95-day time period.
Also, depending on the class of mail and when recipients might have moved, the use of certain endorsements could be very costly due to the return of the mailpiece.
If you have additional questions, please let me know!
Kind regards,
Elizabeth

I was told that if we use, or current resident, in the address that would satisfied move update requirements.
