Hello Robert!
Thanks so much for the question!
The USPS offers a lot of information relative to the Intelligent Mail barcode which you can find on their main website using the "search" tool. And in order to use the Intelligent Mail barcode, you'll need to acquire a Mailer ID through your USPS Mail Design Analyst.
However, it can get a bit confusing and so your thought about reaching out to "Group1"/a Pitney Bowes consultant makes a lot of sense. We can certainly help you wade through the requirements, understand your applications and objectives, and then provide you options to meet your goals.
To begin, you'll want to initially consider how/in what way(s) do they want to use the Intelligent Mail barcode? That will help you and your PB consultant figure out the direction to take. Are you interested strictly in postal discounts? Or perhaps you want to improve the quality of your address database through the OneCode ACS program? Or maybe you want to track your inbound or outbound mail so that you can better manage cash flow and other resources?
Please let me know if you have other questions or comments!
Kind regards,
Elizabeth
