Cannot update meter - Model P700, P7L1, DM100 or DM200

[ Edited ]

If you have a model P700, P7L1, DM100 or DM200 mail machine, and you are unable to update your machine by following directions you received from us in the mail, could you please send me a private message with the serial number of your meter.  What I will need to do is reissue the update for your machine in our server, and this will fix this problem.  You can send me a private message by clicking on my username, PB-Jeremy, and then click on "Send this User a Message."

Thank you, and we apologize in advance for the problems with this!

Jeremy

*UPDATE*  4/3/2009

We have removed the software update from some of these meters, to prevent this problem.  If you attempt this update, and you have a message that there are "No Downloads Available", this means this update has been removed from your meter for the time being.  Could you please attempt this update again on Monday, 4/13/2009.

*UPDATE4/14/2009
This problem has been corrected.  If you continue to have a problem with updating your meter, we would suggest following these troubleshooting tips:
  • Press the Options key
  • Select Connect Data Center
  • Select Phone Parameters
  • Select Dialing Prefix

If you need a prefix to get an outside line, such as 9, please enter this here.  Keep this blank if you do not need a prefix.

  • Press the Options key
  • Select Connect Data Center
  • Select Phone Parameters
  • Select Change PB Phone Number
  • Select Yes
  • Enter 18662978025

You can also try 18005904857. If you are still unable to make a connection, could you answer these questions for me please?

  • Are you using a phone or fax line (fax is recommended)
  • Is the line connected directions from the wall to the meter (no splitters or DSL filters)
  • Do you use T1 lines

Thank you,

Jeremy

Re: Cannot update meter - Model P700, P7L1, DM100 or DM200

pderc5,

Can you let us know, are you attempting to download the Postal Rate Change update for the May 2009 Rate Change of for the January 2009 Rate Change?  The download for the May 2009 Postal Rate Change is not yet available.  Also, when you attempt to download the update on your meter, what happens?

You can view the status of your Postal Rate Change update at www.pb.com/ratechange.  Login (or Register Now if this is your first visit), click on your equipment, and you can see the status of the update.

Thank you,

Jeremy

Re: Cannot update meter - Model P700, P7L1, DM100 or DM200

The notice I received was dated at the bottom March '09.  I tried again on 4/17 to download the update as instructed in the aforementioned notice and received this message:  System fault DE06  Please reset  Turn power off  Then on.  When I did this, the meter went back to the normal operating screen.  The postage scale is still not working.  We can't weigh any of our mail -- any suggestions on that?

DM1000- No Updates available error

I downloaded the updates this morning, however, when i reached the 100% complete download, i got an error message stating i could not update the rates.  I followed the steps a second time, tried to download again and i got a message stating "No Updates currently available for your mailing system".  I turned off the machine, waited 30 seconds & tried to download a third time and got the same error.  Please help!!

Stuck at 0%

[ Edited ]
I have a DM200 we have been using for about 2-3 months. I have attempted to follow the instructions and keep getting stuck at 0%. I am using the USB line through the meter connect software. It shows a "internet detected" when I attempt the download but it still sits at 0%. I've attempted this with a fax line as well and also changed the PB numbers. Still getting the 0%. Any ideas?
